What is the maximum word count?

The word count limit for your assignment will depend on the level of the programme for which you are enroled. 

The maximum word count for assignments is:

• Advanced Certificate : minimum 2,000, maximum 2,500 words
• Diploma : minimum 3,000, maximum 3,500 words
• Certified Practioner MLRO :  Reflective Journal 300 words per eight virtual classrooms. Totalling to 2400 words.  The assignment section is a minimum 850 words and a maximum 1000 words
• Certified Financial Crime Investigator : maximum 1500 words

The limits will be confirmed on the front cover of your assignment.  

Learners should meet the required minimum word count; failure to do so often results in poor marks.

Penalties will be applied for exceeding the maximum word count:

Up to 10% over the specified word limit – 10 mark penalty

11%–25% over the specified word limit – 20 mark penalty 

26%–50% over the specified word limit – 30 mark penalty

Any assignments in excess of 50% over the specified word limit will not be marked, and a mark of zero will be recorded.
